A New Kind of Engagement Photo

In my home, I like sentimental photographs that could also pass as fine art. I love my engagement ring not just because it happens to be exactly what I always dreamed of, but because of how special it is that Matthew devoted so much of his time picking out the perfect one. It also reminds me of the night he proposed, and it makes me feel so much love.

I took these photos of my ring in Italy after he proposed. I love the contrasting texture of the diamond and metal against nature: plants, wood, rocks. I think that these photos are beautiful by themselves, but blown up in my home, would make meaningful art.

There's a wedding in the future...

...we're just not exactly sure when.

We know we want it in the summer, on a Saturday, during Matt's break from school. We're looking at two dates, and now we just need to pick a venue!

The wedding is a year away, and people are already requesting save-the-dates. Apparently planning a wedding is big work! Any tips from other brides?

Impressive Proposal

Have you seen this wedding proposal yet? It's pretty darn impressive. It makes me want to don a British accent and say, "Well done, Sir." Maybe a Ron Burgundy accent...anyway...

Royal Wedding

I just love it. I think the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are classy, youthful, and adorable. Besides, you know I love weddings.

Kate's dress is by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, and it just looked perfect on her. Classic and traditional, but perfectly fitted with modern touches. Her tiara is a piece by Cartier that Queen Elizabeth II lent her! 

The wedding was filled with traditional (and indeed historical!) touches--I think these things are just so meaningful.

They just look very regal, don't you think?

Wedding Photography

One of my favorite things to peruse is wedding photography--in magazines, online, photo albums...I love it. Every little detail. But what I really love to find is great wedding photography that can translate to art within the home after the big day.

Okay. I am in love with this couple. Tabitha and Cynthia's wedding was so vibrant, colorful, exciting, and fun--and it looks like it was filled with all the love a couple could ever need. Yes, ladies! Yes!

Beaux Arts Photographie took so many inspiring images, it was hard to choose, so here are a ton of my favorites:
