Missed Connections

How darling is this little piece by Sophie?

I always find bookstores and libraries to be romantic, don't you?

iPhone Case

Finally! I've got my phone and I've got my case! Let me tell you all about it!
It's a Case-Mate Verizon iPhone 4 Barely There case. The awesome thing about Case-Mate is that they have all these great functions to customize your case. You can upload photos or use their design software.
I spent a little while designing cases, but then I decided that what I wanted was already created by someone else, and that person is Julia from The Spotted Sparrow. I had her gorgeous honeycomb print and thought it would look great on my phone, so I asked her if I could use it to make the case.
I'm so pleased with how it turned out!
The Barely There case hugs the phone, but leaves the front clean. I'm so glad I have it because I've dropped the phone probably 50 times already!
Yay! Now I can start taking the famed iPhone mirror photos! I might need to practice a bit...

I totally recommend checking out Case-Mate if you're looking for a case. They've got so many design options, excellent customer service (seriously!), and competitive prices. They didn't even give me anything to say that!

Art Journal: Then and Now

Matt's family has lived in their home for quite a few generations, so he is always discovering some awesome artifact from the 1800s or older. Anyway, recently they came upon this great old book and I recognized it immediately for what it was: a 19th Century Art Journal!!

I mean, these girls kept their musings, poetry, and inspirations in this book, along with illustrations and sometimes cut-outs! What else could you call it?

So I thought I would share a few of my recent art journal pages, too. I'm no Elizabeth Black, but I've been having fun just the same.

I hope you are having a lovely and inspired weekend!

eighteen25 Subway Art

Those girls know how to create some great Subway Art. I find myself looking forward to holidays just so I can put up the next exciting piece! Here is the latest:
Isn't it sweet? It comes in different colors, too!

Want to know a secret? Matt got all touched when I put this one up. Awwww!

Apartment Inspiration

So I may have mentioned that Matt and I are moving to Los Angeles this summer. We've begun looking at apartments and I'm getting pretty excited. Right now, we're in a townhouse and, although it is in a gorgeous neck of the woods, I can't stand it. Let me tell you why:

1. It's too big to keep clean and clutter free.
2. It's in the middle, so the natural light is non-existent.

But the apartments in Los Angeles....oh they have white walls, maple flooring, and all the sunny sun California has to offer. As of 4AM this morning, I have begun to collect inspiration. Here are two of my favorite bloggers--these women have impeccable taste. Enjoy, my friends.

First, I am in love with Yvonne's work. Her home and her photos are just lovely and light. Seriously, you should check out her blog. Go ahead, I'll wait for you.
The neutral furniture with splashes of soft color and modest black accents. I'm in love.
I adore every corner of her home, especially when she adds natural texture. Yes, Yvonne. Yes.
Next up is the home of Nina from Stylizimo. Just sensational.
I am obsessed with that black and white striped bench next to the distressed bureau.
The grey couch, my friends. The grey couch! The grey couch with the white furniture and walls. Oh yes.
I love how she is able to change the look of her room by changing up the accessories. That's the key! Genius!!
I strongly sense that these apartments keep themselves clean. And so I must have them. Wish me luck!

Mother's Day Notions

Here are a few of my favorite ideas for Mom this Sunday. Of course, my mom asked for Thorlo socks (she's getting them!), but I think she should also get pampered a little with something pretty or special.
This card from Ambrosia is genius--and you can download it for yourself!
Don't these macarons look delightful? I know my mom likes a tiny taste of something sweet with her morning coffee. They're not vegan (do you know of any that are??), but they are kosher-certified, and you can order online!
This card is rather clever and sweet, and there are four variations for you to choose from (Mum, Mother, Grandma, and a blank one for everyday use. The cards are free for your pleasure by mufn via How About Orange.
Finally, I love these printable buttons from Creature Comforts. They are a lovely embellishment for Mother's Day, or for any other craft you might be working on.

For Mother's Day, it really is the thought that counts.
