I love organization. In fact, I made a to do list about getting organized using one of their organization tools! How's that for
Here's my new to-do list for getting the house decluttered and organized in preparation for our move:
This month in my yoga teacher training we're learning about aparigraha, or non-grasping. One of our suggested tasks was to clean out a drawer or storage space and donate what we no longer need. I think it is no coincidence that themes of simplicity and non-attachment keep floating into my life (especially as I find myself more and more burdened by all the excess junk in our home!).
So here is my pretty list with manageable items for decluttering my

Oh, this is super useful. I have about 20 to-do apps between my computer, iPad and iPhone, but there is still something about a handwritten to-do list that I just love. I'm gonna print out a stack of these. Now if only I can figure out how to actually follow through with my lists...
ReplyDeleteI love how you used the sheet! I also love the connection you made with Aparigraha - so true and it's good to be reminded of it. Good luck with your de-cluttering and your move. Keep us posted on how it goes.
ReplyDelete@PinkLuxe - 3 ways to keep yourself honest when it comes to following through on your lists: (1) Focus on what's getting in your way. Sometimes just identifying that enables you to see a way around it and get moving. (2) Make an IF/THEN statement in anticipation of moments of "imperfection." For example, IF I haven't made any progress on X task by Tuesday at 5pm, THEN I will not watch TV (or read or whatever you do to relax) and will get to work on it immediately after dinner. Repeat it to yourself for a few days and I swear, your body will do it on autopilot. (3) Get a buddy. I have a friend who comes over once a quarter (and I go to her house once a quarter too). The person "hosting" supplies a glass of wine. The person "visiting" cracks the whip on clutter and provides a clear-eyed view on mementos/clothes/etc. you can't seem to part with.
