Downtown LA: Part II -- Fashion District

I somehow only just discovered the Fashion District in Downtown L.A., but as soon as I did I knew exactly who I needed to bring. I threatened to never be her sister again if she didn't go with me, hair and make-up ready, so we could buy fabric and blog about it.

Turns out, I didn't really need to threaten her with my big sisterly ways--she was in.

My favorite store for fabric is Michael Levine. There is so much fabric there. We wanted to go home with about eight thousand dollars worth of bolts and notions, scheming up the dresses and curtains and finery we could make. In the end we decided to stick with some throw pillows to get the hang of it (to be continued)!

Fabric Flowers

I am still getting used to the idea that crafts don't work out as envisioned the first time. I have big dreams for fabric flowers--maybe not these fabric flowers, but a future version.
