For some reason, I thought that a good way to learn how to sew would be to sew myself an outfit for the Renaissance Festival in just a week using a pattern that includes a corset. Oh dear!

I feel like Tim Gunn is going to walk into my sewing room any minute and tell me to make it work.

Or I just wish he would!

Brooch Love

Happy Monday! It's raining in Maryland, prompting me to pull out my coats and sweaters. As I begin to arrange my fall wardrobe, I have been paying special attention to an accessory I have never really worn before: the brooch. Here are some of my favorites today:

 I bought this little beauty from Merrimask. Her work is spectacular.

 I am very seriously considering buying this from HungryDesigns immediately upon posting this!

Which leads me to a good question: there are wedding registries and baby shower registries...but what about birthday registries? Or holiday registries? Perhaps a Happy-Halloween-Shannon-Here-Is-A-Beautiful-Book registry?
