Freebie Fav's: Thanksgiving

Here are some of my favorite freebies right now--these are perfect for Thanksgiving and the last days of fall!

1. Subway Art & a matching banner from eighteen25
2. Wine labels from Sarah Hearts (great for a hostess gift!)
3. Pretty November calendar from Creature Comforts

It has actually occurred to me just now that only my American friends celebrate Thanksgiving in November, but everyone can take a moment to reflect on gratitude. So tell me, what are you thankful for?

What I Wore

It's still sort of sundress weather here in Los Angeles, but at least now I need a cardigan! Fall, where are you? I'm so confused!
Outfit Details: Sundress: H&M, Cardigan: Old Navy, Pumps: Mossimo, Necklace: Forever21, Cocktail Ring: Express, Camera Bag: JoTotes (!!!)

I was extra excited to put this outfit together because I was wearing it to my blogger date with e from pinksuedeshoe, whom I adore (but more on that later!). Extra excitement at another chance to carry my lovely camera bag, courtesy of my littlest sister, Bonnie.

Editing these photos has made me realize two things:
1. No more relying on photoshop to de-wrinkle clothes....
2. Feet are kinda weird, huh? A little veiny. Or is that just me?

White Pumpkins

I love this trend. Decorating with white pumpkins is such a elegant approach.

Wouldn't a white pumpkin vase be a pretty hostess gift?

Jeweled Skull DIY

My favorite way to decorate for Halloween is to go with my movie prop approach: anything goes as long as it could be a prop for a scary movie. Things that could be in a real haunted mansion or a run down cemetery or a spooky forest.
But I also enjoy a little glam, especially if it's for a party!

This Jeweled Skull DIY is soooo easy and quick. It took me about 10 minutes to make, and about an hour to dry. All you need is a prop skull, jewels (I used pearls in two colors and three sizes), and some clear-drying glue.

Fill one eye socket with jewels and glue them down. Splay a few more across the face however you like, and add a few more in the opposite eye. Remember to use the rule of odds--stack your jewels in groups of 1, 3, 5, etc. Something to do with nature and ratio...

This is a great Halloween decoration, especially with you throw extra beads around. It's also good for a pirate party or to celebrate La Dia de los Muertos!

Enjoy!

I love this trend

Dip-dyed furniture. I love the clean lines of it. It makes me want to remove the carpet in my apartment, lay down wood, paint it white, and then dip-dye my furniture.

Can anyone tell me how to keep things (like my couch and chair and bedding) white? Whilst living with a little black cat? And a boy?
