Art Love

One of my favorite things to do is find fun new artists on the internet. It's been raining here, so today I was held by Tanya Bond's painting of Cynthia and her umbrella.
And, of course, these festive ladies:

Project Runway

For some reason, I thought that a good way to learn how to sew would be to sew myself an outfit for the Renaissance Festival in just a week using a pattern that includes a corset. Oh dear!
I feel like Tim Gunn is going to walk into my sewing room any minute and tell me to make it work.

Or I just wish he would!

Brooch Love

Happy Monday! It's raining in Maryland, prompting me to pull out my coats and sweaters. As I begin to arrange my fall wardrobe, I have been paying special attention to an accessory I have never really worn before: the brooch. Here are some of my favorites today:
I bought this little beauty from Merrimask. Her work is spectacular.
I am very seriously considering buying this from HungryDesigns immediately upon posting this!
This is such a beautiful and bold accent piece! I want the lace pictured with it....

Vera Neumann

Angela Hardison posted these gorgeous pictures of this book and now I must have it.

Which leads me to a good question: there are wedding registries and baby shower registries...but what about birthday registries? Or holiday registries? Perhaps a Happy-Halloween-Shannon-Here-Is-A-Beautiful-Book registry?

Look at these pictures. Think it over. Let me know if you're ready to start the trend.

Enjoy!  ♥ Shannon

Sunday Lovely

Sunday mornings are a very calm and private time for me. I find myself drawn to lovely and inspiring things. Today, it is the work of Pulsatilla. Here are some of her pieces:

I am loving the rosy hues and the personality in these little birds! ♥ Shannon

Autumn Spirits

There is something about an autumn night that makes me want to add a 'k' to magick, and possibly run a ring of salt around my home. Especially when  I am outside I feel like at any time I might run into one of these:

What a precious and impressive little fairy house. It's so cozy and perfect! Enjoy these nights--the winter will come quickly! ♥ Shannon

Wish List

If I were to buy something extravagant that I do not need given my pre-existing sets of dinnerware, it would have to be...
this gorgeous Lenox Simply Fine Dinnerware, Chirp. I can already envision the beautiful place settings now. They would go perfectly with some fantastic clear chairs like these, even though I already have not one but two lovely dining room tables...
A girl can dream, yes?  ♥ Shannon

Good news: it's almost Friday!  ♥Shannon

Good Morning!

Mornings can be tough, especially as it gets darker. Here are some bright images from a shop I am loving:

Autumn Equinox

Cooler weather. Changing leaves. Harvest moon. It must be fall!
Anyone from Southern California knows that fall means Santa Ana winds, but on the East Coast it's probably my favorite time of year. After all, it means crisp walks outdoors, rich fabrics with bold patterns, and, best of all, everything pumpkin!

Pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin seeds...yes yes yes! Happy Fall! ♥ Shannon

Last Hours of Summer

Soon it will officially be fall, so this is my last chance to post these beautiful pictures from one of my favorite summer days. Matt and I found a little farm with a sign that said:
They were so beautiful and the field was filled with gorgeous butterflies. And of course, then I had lovely arrangements to brighten up the house!
Ah summer, I have loved and always will love you. See you again soon! ♥Shannon
